Generic University of Medicine's hybrid MD program is a unique blend of convenient online pre-clinical studies
and a traditional hands-on clinical experience.
GenMed welcomes two cohorts each year - one in January and one in July. Application deadlines are 1 September for
the January intake, and 1 March for the July intake. Completed applications must be submitted by the intake
deadline in order to be considered. GenMed does not accept incomplete applications or late applications.
Residency
GenMed accepts applications from citizens or permanent residents residing in:
- Australia
- Canada
- New Zealand
- Samoa
- United States (including Puerto Rico and overseas territories)
Application Fee
GenMed requires a
non-refundable $250 application fee
to process your application.

Application Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited tertiary institution.

GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, 5.5 on a 7.0 scale, or equivalent.
- Transcripts must be certified/official and from all colleges, universities, and institutions attended.
- Official transcripts must come directly from the institution or through an approved verification service.
- Uncertified copies sent directly by the applicant will not be accepted.
- International transcripts from countries not listed above may require a formal evaluation report to meet medical school application requirements. Please contact your Admissions Counselor to discuss.

Three
Letters of Recommendation, including
one
letter from an MD.
- Three signed and dated original letters of recommendation, with at least one from a medical doctor.
- GenMed will request the letters directly from your references.

Professional Résumé or CV.
- Include your education, work experience, relevant healthcare and volunteer experience (if applicable), and current address.

Valid Government-Issued Photo ID.
- Current, official government-issued photo ID. For example, a driver’s license or passport data page.

Essay.
- An essay of approximately 1,000 words telling us why you want to become a medical doctor.

Fluent in English, speaking, reading, and writing.

GenMed welcomes students with English as a second language,
with TOEFL iBT or IELTS.
You may meet the language requirement through previous studies,
otherwise you can provide an up-to-date TOEFL iBT , IELTS, OET, or PET Academic,
with the required scores.

A computer with internet access and external web camera (webcam).
- GenMed conducts lectures and presentations through video conferencing.
- No criminal history that may affect future medical licensure.
- No medical conditions that prevent you from practicing medicine.
